‘Marmari designs originate in happiness and positivity, and the collection is celebratory by nature.’
The designer of Marmari, Nouran Elmarmari is of Moroccan and Egyptian heritage, and she shares her unique perspective on fine jewellery through her passion for creating and attracting positivity. She creates symbols of inspiration, brought to life in the physical form through the powers of gemstones and fine metals.
Her designs and inspiration of jewellery came from her rich family history and childhood. Nouran is the granddaughter of a jewellery pioneer, who was the proprietor of a workshop and four jewellery showrooms throughout Cairo, Egypt. She grew up with a passion for and a strong understanding of the business. From the time she was little, Nouran’s mother and grandmother taught her about the uniqueness and stories surrounding jewels and gems, as well as the technical aspects. She sees her jewellery as contemporary in style, with a sprinkle of magic. She also uses jewellery as a form of expression to empower women, and act as reminders of every woman’s inner strength and beauty.
As Nouran says herself, ‘A well handcrafted piece of jewellery is a powerful storyteller that can tell a story for generations to come.’
