LAM was founded in 2019, by London-based Fashion Designer Lucy Anne Makewell. She aimed to create quality, contemporary, effortless knitwear with a feminine edge and unexpected detail. The ethos of the brand is to offer luxury knitwear which is both season-less and age-less. The experience Lucy has gained over the past 20 years in industry has given her the passion to develop beautiful knitwear, ensuring that the yarns used are sustainable and ethical in production.
All of LAMs knitwear is crafted with sustainable fibres, sourced with social responsibility, following the guidelines of The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, GOTS Global Organic Textiles Standard and STWI – Sweden Textile Water Initiative. She also follows the Animal Welfare guidelines, animal fibres are responsibly harvested by clipping, shearing and by natural shedding, no animals were harmed from their productions.
LAM is investing in change, for consumers to understand their fast fashion consumption and throw-away culture is heavily impacting the environment, to urge them to ‘buy less, buy better’. LAM wants to embrace this, believing their clothes don’t need to be defined into seasons and are much more than ‘fast fashion’.
